CHARACTERISTICS
Exceptional strength, brilliance, softness, pliability,
and high yield.
USES
Automotive fabrics, upholstery and drapery materials,
apparel fabrics, hosiery, mattress ticking, labels and novelty fabrics.
COLORS
Gold and silver.
CONSTRUCTION
Metlon 150V is a three ply laminated metallized polyester
yarn. Two clear 1/2 mil gauge polyester films are laminated on each
side of a metallized 1/2 mil gauge polyester film.
STRENGTH AND ELONGATION
(based on 1/69" width)
Elongation: 70% minimum
Breaking strength: 175 grams minimum
Yield point: 15 grams
DRY CLEANING AND LAUNDERING
Professional dry cleaning, using perchlorethylene only,
is preferable to laundering. Laundering should be with Woolite at
cool temperatures.
IRONING
Fabrics containing 150V should be treated like all synthetic
fabrics. 150V should be ironed at the lowest setting on the iron.
It is recommended that no steam be used.
WET PROCESSING
150V is chemically attacked by acids and alkalies. A
neutral pH and temperature under 180° F. for 1 hour will minimize
chemical attack. A slightly acid pH is preferable to a slightly alkaline
pH. Stronger acids or alkalies, elevated temperatures or longer time
will all increase chemical attack.
Chemical resistance of metallic yarn may be reduced,
if the yarn is stretched during the manufacturing process.
HEAT
150V should not be heated above 180° F. if moisture
is present. If no moisture is present, dry heat may go up to 220°
F.

QUALITY CONTROL
At the time of manufacture, Metlon
conducts a series of tests to insure that 50NL meets minimum physical
and chemical requirements. Copies of these tests are available from
Metlon.
Because of the wide variation in individual
requirements, it is recommended that each customer conduct its own
tests to determine Metlon's acceptability for its use.
